Mel was recommended to us by a family friend with a local connection. From the first time we met, we felt comfortable and at ease. Mel took the time to really understand us and what we wanted, taking our big whanau’s needs into consideration seamlessly. On the day Mel was a calming figure around the wonderful chaos that the wedding day brings. Mel is an amazing celebrant, she made us feel so at ease from our very first meeting, and we loved that she takes a genuine interest in her couples and their stories. She made our ceremony so special, and was truly such a warm, calming and welcoming presence for us and everybody there. We had so many guests tell us how much they loved the way that Mel conducted the ceremony and the beautiful story she told about us. We couldn’t recommend her more!

Mel absolutely made our day! We are a very relaxed, go with the flow kind of couple that hates being the centre of attention and Mel catered to that. She captured our relationship perfectly. Mel’s ceremony script showed just how much she really listened to our story. Our wedding was put together in 8 weeks and even through some tough times with her family, she never made us feel stressed or worried.  We could never thank Mel enough for the outstanding role she played.

Mel was able to craft a beautiful ceremony for us that everyone who attended our ceremony will remember! One of my groomsmen was stunned and asked me “how did Mel know all of those things? It was like she was there in all of those memories!” and that is a testament to Mel’s craft.

Mel is a calm, guiding hand in what can be overwhelming territory. Utterly professional, Mel brings a very human approach to the marriage process, which suited us perfectly. On the day, it felt like we were being married by a friend.

Mel bought such a relaxed and fun vibe to our wedding and the ceremony flowed so smoothly. The whole process of preparing for the ceremony was easy and fun and that was all down to Mel. Could not recommend her more!

Mel was professional yet warm and made us feel comfortable right from the very start. We truly felt she took the time to hear and learn our story…Mel went out of her way to make sure my husband’s grandma was ok, after we included some words which had been written by her husband who passed the week before the ceremony. It really stood out as an example of how kind and thoughtful Mel is.

We couldn’t recommend Melanie more. Our ceremony was perfect and exactly what we hoped for because Melanie really captured who we are and what we wanted from our first meeting. She’s professional, creative, a great writer, diligent, warm and the perfect amount of formal. She’s hugely detail orientated which we appreciated so much as we knew everything was sorted come the day of our wedding. Thank you Melanie for being such a massive part of our day, you fit into our wedding seemlessly. You’re a wonderful celebrant so we’re so glad we found you through recommendations.

We imagined something special on the beach, but personally I never would have thought we would end up with something so warm and sentimental, and so in line with our deepest wishes. We felt that you understood us completely, and your words reminded us again just how much we love each other.

The perfect day requires the perfect support. Melanie, you have indeed been our lighthouse at multiple occasions. Being from overseas planning a same-sex wedding in New Zealand may not have been the brightest idea my wife and I came up with but it was indeed one of the most romantic ones! You were proactively supportive and had a very comprehensive plan with easy steps to follow throughout the entire planning. We wonder if you were also the reason why the sun decided to shine right above our heads on our wedding ceremony! How magical was that? Thank you for your support; we will not hesitate to recommend you!

“Mel was everything we could have hoped for in a celebrant and more.  As we were planning our wedding from the UK, we first met Mel over Skype and organised much of our ceremony with Mel via Skype.  Although that can sometimes be a difficult way to communicate, we felt immediately comfortable with Mel – it was like chatting with a longtime friend – and the whole process was very easy.  The end result was a completely personalised ceremony that couldn’t have been more “us”.  Mel was also brilliant in the lead up to the day – she guided us all through a rehearsal and remembered everyone in our families’ names (very impressive!).  On the day she made us feel completely relaxed and in control and many of our guests commented that they had assumed that we had known each other for years.  We would absolutely recommend Mel.”
